DAVID EARL LUSK, a resident of the Saulsbury Community in Hardeman County and husband of the late Frenchie Fortune Lusk died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his residence. He was 68 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes.
Funeral services for Mr. Lusk were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, December 4th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Gary Lynn Joyner of Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Lusk was born October 2, 1941 in Memphis the son of the late Louis Earl Lusk and the late Lillie Alma Joshlin Lusk.
He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was married November 6, 1959 to the former Frenchie Faye Fortune of Fayette County. Mrs. Lusk was a Wal-Mart of Collierville employee and a well-known local seamstress before her death on February 9, 2003.
Mr. Lusk was involved in the Printing industry throughout his life serving as a Printing Company Pressman in Memphis for forty-six years before his retirement five years ago.
He was a resident of Memphis in earlier years and he and his wife returned to Fayette County in 1973 where they resided before moving to the lake areas near Saulsbury nine years ago.
Mr. Lusk was a family-oriented person and will be remembered as a loving husband whose favorite pastimes included fishing, nature and out-of-door activities.
Survivors of Mr. Lusk include his daughter, Roxanna Wilburn of Saulsbury, TN; two sons, Gary Earl Lusk (Sherri) of Middleton and Tommy D. Lusk (Ashley) of Walls, MS; his sister, Sharon Phebus of Memphis; four brothers: Robert Lusk and Alton Lusk, both of Memphis; Sonny Lofton of Olive Branch, MS and Phillip Lusk of Memphis; six grandchildren: Renee, Nathan, Mandy, Brandi, Samathan and Killian and four great-grandchildren: Rachel, Hunter, Rianna and Cagney.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Al Wilburn, Tommy Raiteri, Anthony Lusk, John Raiteri, Gary Lusk and Nathan Lusk.
