Muriel Edith (Perkins) Davidson

Muriel Edith Perkins Davidson, 83, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and wife of the late Clifford Davidson, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Davidson were conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Kenneth Culver, pastor of Warren Community Church, officiating. He was assisted by Bro. Carl Doyle of Oakland. Interment followed in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Davidson was born August 21, 1934 in Somerville, Tennessee. She received her education in the Fayette County School System and was married December 8, 1951 to Edward Clifford Davidson. A lifelong resident of Fayette County, she was a faithful servant of her church, Antioch Methodist Church of Somerville, and was a homemaker throughout her life. Mrs. Davidson enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and canning, baseball and her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Davidson is survived by five daughters, Hattie Brawley (Nathan) of Oakland, TN, Barbara Trusty (Joe) of Olive Branch, MS, Mary Jackson (Phillip) of Savannah, TN, Belinda Denniston (John) of Somerville, TN, Joyce Hensley (Clark) of Somerville, TN; two brothers, Jimmy Perkins (Mary Ann) of Paragould, AR, Johnny Perkins (Jeanne) of Somerville, TN; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, six step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died December 19, 2011, Edward Clifford Davidson; her parents, Jimmy Lee Perkins and Betty Morris Glover Perkins; and her sister, Betty Lee Perkins Bobbitt.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Lee Doyle, Scott Hensley, Garrett Smith, Alex Smith, Jimmy “Mutt” Perkins and Aubrey Davidson, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Ashton Doyle and Austin Green.
