Roger "Rosco" Guinn Lee

Roger “Rosco” Guinn Lee, age 77, resident of Como, Mississippi and husband of the late Cora Dale Shankle Lee, departed this life Friday morning, November 18, 2022 at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee.

Roger was born October 30, 1945 in Somerville, Tennessee, the son of the late Walter Edward Lee and Reba Estelle Russell Lee. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic and auto body painter for much of his life. Rosco loved fixing up his Chevy truck and gardening. He was referred to as The Mater Man often for his passion of growing and selling tomatoes. He loved having family and friends stop by and sitting on his porch relaxing.

Mr. Lee is survived by three daughters, Ella Dawn Askew (Hugh) of Como, MS, Christy McGehee (Ken) of Coldwater, MS and Rebecca Starkey (Paul Watson) of Horn Lake, MS; three sisters, Vickie Parks (Donnie) of Somerville, TN, Millie Taylor (Ricky) of Somerville, TN and Dean Wharton (Eddie) of Oakland, TN; seven grandchildren, Cody Shankle (Kari), Minnie Cobb (Nathan), Troy Askew, John “JJ” Starkey III, Joshua Starkey, Cory Newman and Shirlan Newman; four great-grandchildren, Brantley Cobb, Clayton Shankle, Jaxon Cobb and Alexis “Allie” Shankle; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jean Webb and Evanell Rogers and two brothers, Max Lee and Wayne “Bubby” Lee.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lee were held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Cary Warren officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were John “JJ” Starkey, Shane Parks, Cody Shankle, Troy Askew, Hugh Askew and Jerry “Pee Wee” Rogers, Jr.
