Mary “Aileen” Burton Starnes, 78, native of Fayette County and resident of Memphis for much of her life, retired employee of Tri-State Armature died at home on October 22, 2011 following an extended illness.
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Starnes will be at 10 AM Tuesday at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Macon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Peebles West Chapel.
Devoted to her children and grandchildren, Mrs. Starnes leaves her children, Mark Starnes (Sonya), Susan Grassel (Paul), Michael Starnes (Regina), four brothers, Morris Burton, Jack Burton, Gene Burton, Ray Burton, three sisters, Ruby Garrington, Peggy Garner, Angie Turnage, six grandchildren, Jason Starnes, Clint Starnes, Megan Grassel, Joey Grassel, Aaron Starnes, Jessica Starnes, and one great granddaughter, Cassie Marie Starnes.
Mrs. Starnes was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Burton and Mary Elizabeth Niblett Burton, her brother, Howard Burton and two grandsons, James Nathan Starnes and Michael Logan Starnes.
