Albert "Skip" Carter Wiseman

Albert Carter “Skip” Wiseman, resident of the Braden Community and husband of the late Becky Bowling Wiseman, departed this life Tuesday morning, December 24, 2013 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis where he had been a patient for one week. He was 69 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Wiseman were conducted at 1 P.M. Friday, December 27th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Mark Matheny, interim pastor of the Braden United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Arlington Town Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Wiseman was born July 1, 1944 in Arlington, Tennessee, the son of Maggie Carter Wiseman and the late Malcolm H. Wiseman. He received his education in the Shelby County Public School System and was a graduate of the Arlington High School. He was married March 15, 1996 to the former Becky Bowling, who preceded him in death on June 14, 2009.

Mr. Wiseman was employed as a machinist for the Ralston Purina Corporation in Memphis for many years before his retirement for health reasons. He was a member of the Braden United Methodist Church and had been a resident of the Braden Community since 1996. He was known by his family and friends as a great cook who enjoyed barbecuing and cooking for family reunions and friends. An avid fisherman who loved the outdoors and nature, Mr. Wiseman found pleasure in caring for his pets and vegetable gardening. He was a lifelong resident of the Arlington and Braden Communities.

Mr. Wiseman is survived by two daughters, Tonja Gibson (Ken) of Ashland City, TN, Kim Goodman (Ricky) of Camden, TN; his son, Richard Wiseman (Tammy) of Camden, TN; his mother, Maggie Carter Wiseman of Braden; his brother, Robert H. Wiseman (Peggy) of Braden; the mother of his children, Patty Kyle of Camden, TN; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and father, Mr. Wiseman was preceded in death by his brother, Malcolm Richard Wiseman.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Rodger Wiseman, Mike Wiseman, David Lewis, Kenny Broughton, Charles Vernon and Johnny Davenport.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Braden United Methodist Church, 230 Highway 59, Mason, TN 38049.
