Alice Rogers (Rosser) Brady

December 30, 1920 — March 14, 2016

Alice Rogers Rosser Brady, age 95, resident of Somerville and wife of the late Lawrence O. Brady, departed this life Monday morning, March 14, 2016 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Brady were conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Stan McDaniel, pastor of the Somerville First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Brady was born December 30, 1920 in Jackson, Tennessee. She received her education at the Memphis Technical High School and was married October 4, 1941 to Lawrence O. Brady. She was a Military Wife during the World War II period through 1964. She was a resident of Somerville and a homemaker throughout her life. She was employed as a bank teller at the Somerville Bank and Trust, was employed at the Fayette County Board of Education Vocational Technical School, the Agricultural Extension office and the Court Clerk’s Office before her retirement. Mrs. Brady was a member of the Somerville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, preparing food and special times with her family and church family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Brady is survived by her daughter, Judy B. Henderson and her husband, Paul, of Halls, Tennessee; her son, Jim Brady and his wife, Betty Ann, of Micanopy, Florida; four grandchildren, Liz Horner (Kevin), Kathleen Angstrom (Aaron), Chip Henderson (Sheri), Matt Henderson (Jennifer); and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence O. Brady who died March 6, 2001 and her parents, Thomas Bell Rosser and Lella Vilines Rogers Rosser.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville First United Methodist Church, 202 S. East Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
