ALICE JONES

January 4, 1973 — February 22, 2010

MARY ALICE JONES, a resident of the Somerville Community and daughter of Dot and Jimmy Jones of Somerville died Monday morning, February 22, 2010 while visiting in Orlando, Florida. She was 37 years of age and died unexpectedly.

Services of Remembrance were conducted for Miss Jones at 3 P.M. Saturday, February 27th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Frank Crawford, Pastor of the Somerville First Baptist Church, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. John Ed Watkins, Pastor of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville. Interment will be private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee Miss Jones was born January 4, 1973 the daughter of Jimmy Lee Jones and the former Dorothy (Dot) Kimery.

She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of the Fayette County High School Class of 1991. She continued her education at the State Technical Institute in Memphis.

A Christian and a free-spirited, independent person, Miss Jones was an ardent traveler who enjoyed visiting almost every state in the U.S., yet always considered Fayette County and Somerville her home.

In earlier years, she was an employee of the Carrier Corporation in Collierville and more recently had served as a Customer Service Representative for a major telecommunications organization in Las Vegas, Colorado.

An avid billiard player, she will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends in both happy and difficult times.

In addition to her parents, Miss Jones is survived by two sisters, Sandra Smith (Jake) of Somerville and Jessica Jones of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grace and Bill Kimery of Moscow and Lois and Inez Jones of Somerville.
