Allie B "Aunt B" (German) Springer

December 22, 1922 — October 19, 2015

Allie B "Aunt B" German Springer, age 92, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Charlie Thomas Springer, Sr., departed this life Monday morning, October 19, 2015 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Springer were conducted at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. The officiating ministers were Rev. Walter German, retired United Methodist Pastor, and Rev. Lillie Fletcher, Pastor of Anitoch United Methodist Church in Somerville. Special music was provided by Kristi Springer, soloist, The New Gospel Heralds Quartet and Charlie German. Interment followed in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. A fellowship for family members and friends followed at the Anitoch United Methodist Church-Springer Hall.  Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

A native of Somerville, Mrs. Springer was born December 22, 1922 the daughter of the late Arthur Lee German, Sr. and the late Allie Mae Sorrell German. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System.  She was married June 8, 1940 to Charlie Thomas Springer, Sr., who preceded her in death on July 2, 2010. Mrs. Springer was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Somerville and enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning foods and raising chickens.  She will be remembered as a lifelong homemaker devoted to her family, church and community.

Mrs. Springer leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Patsy I. Harvey (Harold) of Somerville, Linda G. Palmer (Brady) of Covington; three sons, Murry L. Springer (Joan) of Oakland, Charlie T. Springer, Jr. (Phyllis) of Somerville, Phillip A. Springer (Brenda) of Somerville; two brothers, Arthur Lee "Dooney" German of Somerville, James Edward German of Williston; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Thomas “Tom Tom” Clayton Kee.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Brian Parks, Murry Springer, Jr., William Lee Harvey, Tommy Springer III, Eric Springer and Kevin German.
