Alyson Worley Whitaker, age 53, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and wife of Brad Whitaker, departed this life Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Whitaker was held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Highland Heights Presbyterian Church located at 2855 Morning Sun Road in Cordova, Tennessee. A reception followed the service. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Whitaker was born January 3, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee to Albert and Virginia Worley. She was married December 4, 1983 to Bradford Beaton “Brad” Whitaker. A loving wife and mother, Alyson made the most of every experience – lighting up a room and being the life of the party. A truly vibrant woman, she enjoyed cooking, entertaining, traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends. She was always happy and a joy to be around. A good Christian woman, Alyson instilled a strong education and good values in her children. Alyson loved the theater and was a sponsor of the Orpheum in addition to her love of volunteering at Fayette Cares.
Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her husband of 34 years, Brad Whitaker of Oakland, TN; her mother, Virginia Ann Worley of Oakland, TN; her children, Elizabeth Namanny (Joel) of Jackson, MS, Whit Whitaker (Rachel) of Bartlett, TN, Hannah Grace Miller (Matthew) of Memphis, TN, Benjamin Whitaker of Salt Lake City, UT; and her sister, Susan Jerden (Chris) of Memphis, TN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Prince Albert Worley.
