AMELIA ANNE "MEAL" BARTHOLOMEW...with our hearts breaking, we say goodbye to Amelia, who touched the lives of everyone she met with her brilliant light. Amelia was the sweetest daughter any parent could ever ask for. She was a gifted artist and writer who loved to rescue as many cats and dogs as her family would let her.
Amelia was an Honor Student at White Station High School, Class of 2002, a member of the National Honor Society, a graduate with Honors from the University of Memphis, Class of 2006, and was working on her Masters Degree in teaching. She was enjoying her first year of teaching science at Ridgeway Middle School.
Amelia will be greatly missed by her four devoted parents, Elizabeth and John Heeren of Memphis and Paul and Tricia Bartholomew of Somerville; by her brother and best friend, John Bartholomew, of Knoxville; by her step brothers, Dominic and Marco Carbognani; and her Grandparents, William and the late June Bartholomew of Somerville, Augustus and Sally Sordinas of Greece, Margaret and Delvee Soles of Memphis, and Margaret and Ron Beyer of Somerville.
She also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and students who treasured every moment spent with her.
A visitation for Miss Bartholomew was held at Hope Presbyterian Church on Walnut Grove on Saturday, January 10th, 2009, at noon, followed by a Memorial Service at 1 P.M. with Rev. Eli Morris, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
The family asks that any Memorials be sent to either The Memphis Humane Society, 935 Farm Road, Memphis, TN 38134, Phone: (901) 937-3900; or to the House of Mews, 933 S Cooper Street, Memphis, TN 38104, Phone: (901) 272-3777.
