Angelena Mary Caglione Kee, resident of Whiteville and a person active in the affairs of her community and church died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her residence. She was 86 years of age and died unexpectedly.
A Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Kee was conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 10th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Bill Sorrell, pastor of the Whiteville First Baptist Church officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Chad Everett of Crossroads Bible Church in Norris City, Illinois. Special music was provided by Mike Johnson. Interment followed in the Melrose Cemetery at Whiteville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Kee was born August 19, 1923 in Nyack, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents the late Spephen J. Caglione and the late Lena R. Lauglla Caglione. She graduated from parochial school in New York state and had been a resident of the Whiteville Community for the past 35 years. She was an active member of the Whiteville First Baptist Church and received much enjoyment from her participation in the Whiteville Senior Citizens Organization. Special times with family and friends were an important part of Mrs. Kee's life and her interest included sports, music, dancing and preparing food for her family and friends.
Mrs. Kee is survived by three daughters: Lena Parker of Whiteville, Mattie Joyner of Carmi, Illinois, Theresa Freudenberg of Memphis, six grandchildren: Alicia Eatherly, Stacey Freudenberg-Hnedak, Jason Harvey, Jacob Kee, Cathy Lessel and Hulon Lessel, II six great-grandchildren: Gabriel Freudenberg, Heather Henley, Hendrix Harvey, Lennox Harvey, Presleigh Harvey and Dustin Lessel, two great-great-grandchildren: Andrew Henley and Joseph Henley. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Wayne Kee and a granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Kee.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Brad Eatherly, Jason Harvey, Mike Johnson, Hulon Lessel, II, Aubrey Phillips and Ryan Richards.
Honorary Casketbearers were Gerald Joyner, Robert Parker, Skippy Parker and Robert Schettler.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Whiteville First Baptist Church, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Salvation Army.
