Angie DiMento Wombough, resident of the Oakland Community and wife of the late Wesley Wombough died Saturday evening, October 1, 2011 at her home in Oakland. She was 95 years of age and died unexpectedly.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Wombough was conducted at 12 Noon Wednesday, October 5th at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Stephen Kenny of the church officiating. Mausoleum Entombment followed on Saturday, October 8th in Whitemarsh Memorial Park at Ambler, Pennsylvania. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Wombough was born March 16, 1916 in Oswego, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Modesti and Flora DiMento. She was educated in the New York State Public School System and was a former resident of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania before moving to the Oakland Community to reside with her son and daughter-in-law 15 years ago. She was a devoted Catholic throughout her life and was a communicant of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville while residing in Fayette County.
She enjoyed the friendships of her church family and community while residing in Fayette County and will be remembered for the love that she had for her family and friends. Mrs. Wombough was a homemaker throughout much of her life.
Mrs. Wombough is survived by her son, Maurice “Chuck” Wombough and wife, Kay of Oakland, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Wombough and Wesley Wombough, Jr.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 11710 Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
