Ann (Barron) Collier

November 7, 1936 — July 21, 2016

Annie Mae Barron Collier, age 79, resident of Somerville, departed this life Thursday morning, July 21, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Collier were conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Somerville First Baptist Church with James Howell officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Collier was born November 7, 1936 in Sturgis, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Emmet Barron and Jennie Mary Walker Barron. She was employed at Troxel Manufacturing in Moscow, Lewis Western Auto in Moscow and the Internal Revenue Service in Memphis before her retirement. She was a member of the Somerville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Collier was the wife of Robert W. “Bob” Collier, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing cards with her grandsons, preparing food and canning and in later years, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Collier is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Collier of Somerville, Connie Howell and her husband, James, of Somerville, Bobbie Anna Ash and her husband, Jesse, of Potts Camp, Mississippi; her son, Andy Bob Collier of Dickson, Tennessee; and six grandsons, Trey Ash, Wesley Howell, Will Howell, Samuel Howell, Kenan Collier and Matthew Collier.
