Ann R. Manzo

July 26, 1923 — November 4, 2013

Ann R. Manzo, resident of Memphis and aunt of Michael E. (Mike) Manzo of Oakland departed this life Monday morning, November 4, 2013 at the King’s Daughters and Sons Home in Bartlett where she resided for five months. She was 90 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Miss Manzo was born July 26, 1923 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rocco Manzo and Maguerite Barrasso Manzo. She received her education in the Tennessee Public School System and was a lifelong resident of the Memphis area. Miss Manzo was a dedicated employee of the mortgage loan department with National Trust Life Insurance Company in Memphis for a number of years before her retirement.

A lifelong Catholic and devoted to her church, Miss Manzo enjoyed animals that included her dogs and cats. In earlier years, she participated in church activities that included playing Bingo and fellowshipping with church members. She was a longtime supporter and befriended the Poor Clare Sisters Catholic Organization and Monastery located in Shelby County.

A family-oriented person, Miss Manzo is survived by two nieces, Roxanne Sanford of Millington, Deborah Brown of Germantown; two nephews, Michael Manzo of Oakland, Steve Manzo of Lakeland; and a number of great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Poor Clare Sisters, 1310 Dellwood Avenue, Memphis, TN 38127 or to the King’s Daughters and Sons Home, 3568 Appling Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
