Ann Thompson Bryan Mills, age 93, resident of Newbern, Tennessee, former resident of Cordova and wife of the late Leonard Bryan, departed this life Friday morning, March 10, 2017 at the Memphis Jewish Home in Cordova.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Mills were conducted at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Bethany Christian Church in Eads with Bro. Furniss Harkness, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Mills was born May 2, 1923 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, the daughter of Hugh H. Thompson and Emma Kinzer Thompson. She received her education in the Lauderdale County School System and went to college to become a licensed practical nurse. She was a member of the Bethany Christian Church where she sang in the Sweet Adaline’s Quartet and the choir. Mrs. Mills enjoyed preparing food, sewing, volunteering, traveling and special times with her friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Mills is survived by her son, Robert Bryan (Lynn) of Newbern, TN; her sister, Laura Crews of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Bryan; her daughter, Nancy Jones; her son, Harry Bryan; and her granddaughter, Ashley Best.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Bethany Christian Church, 421 Bethany Road, Eads, TN 38028.
