Anne Ruth Creak Andrews, age 99, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Joseph H. Andrews, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 14, 2015 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Andrews were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, April 17th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Larry Kendrick, former pastor of Somerville First United Methodist Church, officiating. A Private Interment was in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Andrews was born April 2, 1916 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Creak and Lina Neal Creak. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1934 and was the wife of Joseph H. Andrews, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Andrews was employed as a clothing retail salesperson for a number of years before her retirement.
Mrs. Andrews was the oldest living member of Somerville First United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher in earlier years and served on various church committees. She was an avid reader who enjoyed ballroom dancing and playing bridge. She was a past president and a member of the Business & Professional Women’s Club (BPW).
Mrs. Andrews is survived by her son, Joe Andrews (Barbara) of Somerville; two grandsons, Clint Andrews (Suzanne), Eric Andrews; and four great grandchildren, Katie Andrews, Eric Andrews, Philip Andrews and Gabe Andrews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles “Happy” Creak and Willie Richard Creak.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Somerville First United Methodist Church, 202 S. East Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
