ANNIE MARGARET ADAIR BOLDEN, a resident of the Huron Community near Lexington, Tennessee and a former resident of the Moscow Community died at 2:20 A.M. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington where she had been a patient for four days. She was 92 years of age and died following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bolden were conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, January 25th at the Graveside with Rev. Rodney VanWinkle, Pastor of the Faith Church of God in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Bolden was born September 16, 1916 in Memphis the daughter of the late Roy Adair and the late Ethel Mathis Adair. She was educated in the Fayette County Public School System and was married in 1937 to Leonard Bolden of Fayette County who died in 1979.
Mrs. Bolden was a homemaker throughout her life, and was also employed by the Wonder Products Corporation of Collierville for over twenty years, before her retirement. She was a member of the Faith Church of God in Somerville and was a resident of Moscow before moving to the Huron Community to be near her family after the death of her husband.
Mrs. Bolden received much enjoyment from quilting and growing flowers and vegetables in her garden each year until her death. She will be remembered as a very independent person who dearly loved her family and grandchildren. She remained active and resided in her own home until her recent illness.
Survivors of Mrs. Bolden include her son, James Luther Bolden (Shelby) of Huron, TN; two grandchildren, Stan Bolden of Cordova and Jerome Bolden of Lexington, TN and three great-grandchildren: Ryan Bolden, Brooke Bolden and Keaton Murley.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vodie Adair and Waddell Adair.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were "Shorty" Adair, Stan Bolden, Jerome Bolden, Ryan Bolden, Keaton Murley and Jerry Adair.
