ANNIE LOU FREEMAN KNOTT

August 15, 1928 — December 5, 2009

ANNIE LOU FREEMAN KNOTT, a resident of the Bartlett Community and retired Beautician with extended family members in Fayette and Hardeman Counties died Saturday evening, December 5, 2009 at her residence. She was 81 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Knott were conducted at 3 P.M. Tuesday, December 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Norman Mitchell, Chaplain with Crossroads Hospice, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.

Mrs. Knott was born August 15, 1928 in Bolivar, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Neal Freeman and Adeline Lucinda Lowe Freeman.

She received her education in the Hardeman County Public School System and was married March 15, 1948 to James Arthur Knott, longtime Butcher and Employee of Armour & Company before his death on March 27th of this year.

Mrs. Knott was a Professional Beautician in Memphis for over forty years before her retirement twenty years ago. She was associated with the Julius Lewis Department Store in Memphis for a number of years and was of the Baptist faith.

An outstanding cook who enjoyed preparing special meals for her family, Mrs. Knott's interests included gardening, traveling, caring for her yard and sewing.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors of Mrs. Knott include 2 daughters, Carolyn Harville (Ronnie) of Bartlett and Bonnie White (Larry) of Lakeland; three sisters: Frances Lomenick of Charlotte, NC; May Howell of Middleton, TN and Dorothy King of Covington, GA; four grandchildren: Jeff Harville of Bartlett, Kim Arbelaez of Oakland, Amy Moore of Cordova and Holly Mills of Hickory Withe and five great-grandchildren.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers for Mrs. Knott were family members and friends.
