ANTHONY WARD BRAZELL, a resident of Memphis with extended family members who formerly lived in Fayette County died at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2009 at his Memphis residence. He was 44 years of age and died following a brief illness of four months.
Funeral services for Mr. Brazell were conducted at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 6th at the graveside with Rev. Jeff Roach, Associate Minister of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Memphis, officiating. Special remarks were provided by Andrew Davis and by Mr. Brazell's mother-in-law, Sue Hudson. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mr. Brazell was born January 20 1964 in Shelby County the son of Carl Brazell Jr. and the late Mildred Solomito Brazell. He was educated in the Public School System of Memphis and graduated from the Middleton, Tennessee High School and continued his education at the University of Memphis.
He was the husband of Renee Thomas Brazell, an Employee of Cook Systems International in Memphis, who survives.
Mr. Brazell was employed as an Information Technology Project Manager for eighteen years and was a member of the St. Therese "Little Flower" Catholic Church in Memphis.
His interests included hiking, animals and nature. He will be remembered as a benevolent, charitable individual who possessed a great love for his children and family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Brazell is survived by three sons: Casey Noland of Olive Branch, MS and Beau Watson and Carter Watson, both of Memphis; his father, Carl Brazell, Jr. of Fairburn, GA; his sister, Melissa Geralds of Waxahatchie, TX; two brothers, Joseph Brazell of Newnan, GA and Carl Brazell, III of Palm Coast, FL. Mr. Brazell was the son-in-law of Mrs. Sue Hudson and the late Richard Hudson, former residents of the LaGrange Community.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Will Geralds, Trevor Wickham, Richard Enriquez, T. J. Boland, Chuck Ward and Mike Leach.
Honorary casket bearers were Tim Burnett and Mike King.
The family request that Memorials be directed to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
