Anthony "Tony" John Haut

June 4, 1946 — January 26, 2016

Anthony John “Tony” Haut, age 69, resident of Somerville and husband of Mary Ann Haut, departed this life Tuesday evening, January 26, 2016 at the St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Haut were conducted at 11 A.M. Monday, February 1, 2016 at the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Stephen Kenny, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.  Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Haut was born June 4, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Haut and Annette Beyenka Haut. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and served his country in the United States Army as a young person. He was married to the former Mary Ann Distretti and was employed in the agricultural industry for many years as a salesperson. He was longtime resident of the Somerville area and a member of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, preparing food and grilling for his family and friends.

Mr. Haut is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Ann Haut of Somerville; his daughter, Nicole Carver (Glenn) of Germantown; his son, Timothy Haut (Audrey) of Sarasota, FL; three sisters, Frances Towle (Tom) of Miami, FL, Barbara Ruppert (David) of Kensington, MD, Mary Catherine Evangelista (Piero) of Vasto, Italy; three brothers, Msgr. Vincent Haut of Jacksonville, FL, Joe Haut (Sandy) of Waycross, GA, Tom Haut (Mary Beth) of Andover, MA; and four grandchildren, Jackson Carver, Caroline Carver, Jacob Haut and Amelia Haut.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Haut.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Glenn Carver, Benjamin Haut, Joe Haut and Tom Haut.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
