Arthur Druien, Jr., age 95, resident of Moscow, Tennessee, departed this life on April 9, 2025.
Arthur was born March 5, 1930, at Fort Eustis, Virginia. He was the only son of the late Master Sergeant Arthur Druien, Sr. United States Army Retired and Mildred Fuller Druien. He graduated from Mason City High School in Mason City, Illinois and served 20 years in the United States Air Force (much to the distress of his Army career father.) In 1952, he met and married his life partner and wife, while stationed in Memphis. Most of his service career was serving in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) and in covert operations in Japan. After retirement from the Air Force in 1968, he returned to Memphis, Tennessee. He initially worked as a locksmith for C and H Locksmith. When his only granddaughter, Jennifer, moved to Florida, the family packed up and followed. After a brief stay in West Palm Beach, Florida, he settled in Moscow and retired from the Veteran’s Hospital in Memphis. Arthur was a member of Somerville #73 Masonic Lodge and a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Verner and daughter, Donna Lee Druien.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Mashelle Gibson (Jim) who cared for him, grandsons, Jay Gibson (Cindy) of Beaufort, South Carolina and Christopher Gibson of Moscow and granddaughter, Jennifer Druien of Moscow. He also leaves his great-granddaughter, Ashlee Oliver (Greg) of Moscow, great-grandson, Austin Gibson of Beaufort, South Carolina and great-great-granddaughter, Leah Oliver and great-great-grandson, Edward Gauge Oliver. He leaves two sons, Michael Druien of Saulsbury, Tennessee and Robert Druien of Collierville, Tennessee.
Words cannot express the heartfelt love to the staff at NHC Somerville for their loving and compassionate care. They are truly Angels among us. Not only did they love and care for Daddy, but their emotional support to Jim and I will never be forgotten.
He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife and daughter at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee in a private ceremony.
