Arthur Ewald Neuman

Arthur Ewald Neuman, age 92, resident of Takoma Park, Maryland and husband of Nancy Harris Neuman, departed this life Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Neuman was held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 in Union Cemetery at Laconia. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel in Somerville.

Arthur was born February 24, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Dan Neuman and Johanna Neuman. He was a graduate of Hartford High School in Hartford, Wisconsin, Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee and George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a Reserves Colonel and was married September 3, 1950 to the former Nancy Harris. Arthur served as a JAG (Judge Advocacy General’s Corps) while in the Air Force and as an attorney in the Washington, D.C. area. He was a member of the R.O.A. (Reserve Officers Association) and the Jaycee’s and he enjoyed traveling, reading, writing and photography.

Mr. Neuman is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Harris Neuman of Takoma Park, MD; his sister, Laura Zehren of Hartford, WI; his brother, Albert Neuman of Hartford, WI; and many extended family members in Fayette County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Karl Neuman, three sisters and two brothers.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Charles Dacus, Chad Dacus, Robert Turner and John Dee Thompson.
