Arthur Joseph “Jody” Miller, Jr., age 59, resident of Eads and husband of Pricilla Allen Miller, departed this life Sunday morning, April 23, 2017 at his residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Miller will be conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Thom McAdory, pastor of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Cordova, Tennessee, officiating. A visitation for Mr. Miller will be from 1 to 3 P.M. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Miller was born January 25, 1958 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Kingsbury High School in Memphis and attended technical school to become a diesel mechanic. He worked as a diesel mechanic since 1983, most recently at R&L Carriers in Arlington. Mr. Miller was married March 31, 1979 to the former Priscilla Allen and he was a lifelong resident of the Oakland area. He enjoyed special times with his grandchildren, fishing and watching movies. Mr. Miller will be remembered for being down-to-earth, easy-going and was a fun-loving prankster.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Priscilla Allen Miller of Oakland, TN; his daughter, Jodie Miller of Eads, TN; his honorary daughter, Danielle “Twinkie” Chyten of Texas; two sisters, Jan Bragg of Lawrenceville, GA, Dianne “Deedee” Jenkins of Shelbyville, TN; five grandchildren, Thomas Miller, Ashley Miller, Timothy Miller, Saya Walton, James “JJ” Walton, Jr.; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joseph Miller, Sr. and Wilma Louise Holbrook Miller; his daughter, Lisa Miller; and his brother, David Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Miller, James Walton, Sr., Ronald Swanner, Jimmy Dobbins, Rick Phelps and Henry Curlee.
