Barbara Ann (Roberts) Hilliard

Barbara Ann Roberts Hilliard, age 61, resident of Oakland and wife of Aubrey Hilliard, departed this life Monday evening, August 6, 2018 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Hilliard was conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Hickory Withe. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Hilliard was born April 9, 1957 in Hohenwald, Tennessee. She received her education at Trezevant High School in Memphis and was employed as a manager at Jimmy Dobbins Auto Store before her retirement in 2013. She was also employed at Tobacco Plus in Oakland for a number of years. She was married May 11, 1994 to Aubrey D. Hilliard and enjoyed sewing, yardwork, and animals, especially birds. Mrs. Hilliard will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who loved taking care of other people and special times with her family and friends.

Mrs. Hilliard is survived by her husband, Aubrey D. Hilliard of Oakland, TN; two sons, Michael W. Hilliard of Medford, OR, Charlie E. Allison (Bryanna Huggins) of Bethel Springs, TN; two daughters, Aundrea Starnes of Memphis, TN, Lisa Hilliard of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Roberts and Grace Evelyn Gordon Roberts; her sister, Robbie Stanfill; and two brothers, William Roberts and Jimmy Roberts.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Jim Hilliard, Jeremy Voyles, Kenneth Perkins, Anthony Starnes and Brian Starnes.
