Barbara Ann Harden Leath, age 66, resident of Franklin, Tennessee, former resident of the Somerville Community and wife of William Ralph Leath, Jr., departed this life Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Leath were conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, December 8th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Lynn Eagan of Collierville officiating. Personal remarks were given by Bro. Loyd Shelton of Rossville. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Leath was born March 22, 1948 in Stanton, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Harden and Ruby Sharp Harden. She received her education in the Haywood County Public School System and continued her education at the Union University in Jackson. She was married June 16, 1967 to William Ralph Leath, Jr., who survives.
Mrs. Leath was a former resident of Fayette County before moving to Franklin to be with her family. She served as an administrative assistant at Peebles Funeral Home for a number of years before her retirement and enjoyed preparing food, antiques, reading and being at the beach.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Mrs. Leath is survived by her daughter, Emily Leath of Franklin, TN and her sister, Linda Mills of Lebanon, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her half-brother, Robert Henry.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Cathey Dandridge, Graham King, Tom Peebles, Tom Pratt, Loyd Shelton and Michael Tilghman.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
