On March 28, 2025, our loving Barbara Sue, “from Waterloo”, Parks left her earthly body and home. She passed this life peacefully in her sleep, as she had always prayed. Barbara may have left peacefully yet; she lived life out loud and to its fullest every day.
She was a member of Somerville Church of Christ for many years. She enjoyed using her craft and sewing talents as her ministry for the Lord and His church.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin & Hattie Nesbitt of Waterloo, AL; her son, Dale Williams; and her husbands, Pete Williams and Alfred Parks all of Somerville, TN.
She is survived by her daughters, Sue Freels of Somerville, TN, Debbie Jameson-Lee and husband, Paul of Elkhart, IN and Dixie Malcolm and husband, Jerry of Ponca City, OK. She had one sister, Sissy Balentine of Waterloo, AL. Barbara also had three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She had two nephews and one niece, two great-nephews, one great-niece, two great-great nephews and six great-great nieces.
She was Mrs. Barbara, Maw, Momma Barbara and Momma B to many other people in Fayette County. She was loved by so many and will be missed daily.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Parks were held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Somerville Church of Christ with Ryan Manning officiating. Interment followed in Hood Cemetery on Old Solomon Road near Somerville.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Michael Clarke, John Day, Josh German, Butch Glover, Stan Harris, Tommy Markle and Raymond Snell. Honorary pallbearers were Loyd and Barbara Doty, Marilyn Markle, Shirley Fite, Linda Matheny, Brenda Paradise, Pat Glover and Cindy Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Somerville Church of Christ, 15925 U.S. Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068.
