Barbara (Totten) Turner

Barbara Totten Turner, age 85, resident of Somerville and wife of the late Jimmy Turner, Sr., departed this life Sunday afternoon, February 21, 2021 at her home.

Barbara was born February 7, 1936 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Frank and Emily Nelms Totten. She was employed as a manager of payroll for the Internal Revenue Service for many years and was married August 3, 1957 to Jimmy Turner, Sr. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and enjoyed visiting with her family and going to casinos.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughter, Terri Turner of Oakland, TN; her son, Glen Turner (Ganna) of Parsons, TN; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather), Justin (Erin) Emily (Ross), Sarah (Houston), Colby and Ellie; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Turner, Jr.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Turner were held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
