Barlus G. "Bart" Bramlett

Oakland, Tennessee

Barlus G. “Bart” Bramlett, age 83, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of the late Doris Ann Bramlett, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, January 8, 2025 at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee.

Bart was born April 14, 1941 in Pontotoc, Mississippi, the son of the late William A. Bramlett and Thelma Estelle Williams Bramlett. He graduated in 1957 from Humes High School in Memphis and from William R. Moore College of Technology where he majored in electric motor repair. He was employed as a college professor for William R. Moore College of Technology where he taught HVAC and computer technology for many years before his retirement. 

Bart was married April 18, 1964 to Doris Ann Bramlett who preceded him in death on July 15, 2010. He was an ordained minister at Eastland Community Church and was most recently a member of Reach360 Church in Somerville. He was a member of the Somerville Masonic Lodge #73 and was a ham radio operator who enjoyed raising and flying pigeons, hunting, and playing the guitar.

Mr. Bramlett is survived by his daughter, Cindy Capps (Randy) of Oakland, TN; three grandchildren, John Michael Capps (Emily) of Oakland, TN, Jesse Capps of Oakland, TN and Jessica Capps of Oakland, TN; two great-grandchildren, Breanna Putt (Taylor) of Maysville, NC and Kaleb Capps of Oakland, TN; and his great-great-granddaughter, Laken Putt of Maysville, NC.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Audrey Ann Bramlett Pitts and two brothers, Jerry Bramlett and Jimmy W. Bramlett.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bramlett were held at 3 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Craig McGee of Reach360 Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. 

Those honored to serve as pallbearers included Jesse Capps, John Capps, and Kaleb Capps.
