Bascom "Bud" Carroll Yager, Jr.

Bascom Carroll "Bud" Yager, Jr., age 74, resident of the Moscow Community and husband of Marilyn Lynn Harvey Yager, departed this life Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Yager were conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, May 28th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Bobby Williams, pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Moscow, officiating. Interment followed in the Hickory Grove Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Yager was born August 26, 1940 in Moscow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bascom Carroll Yager, Sr. and Mary Ester Newton Yager. He was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1958 and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was married June 27, 1965 to the former Marilyn Lynn Harvey, who survives. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Moscow and was a lifelong resident of Fayette County. Mr. Yager was a cattle farmer throughout his life and enjoyed hunting. He was an avid storyteller and enjoyed special times with his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, Mr. Yager is survived by two daughters, Amy Yager Jones (Dean) of Batesville, MS, Melissa Yager Mansour (Nader) of Moscow; his son, Bascom "Trey" Yager III (Courtney) of Grand Junction; his sister, Mary Nelle Parks of Senatobia, MS; two brothers, Jimmy Yager (Mary) of Moscow, David Yager (Diggie) of Moscow; ten grandchildren, Abby Jones, Bobo Jones, Bradley Joyner, Sammy Yager, Matthew Joyner, Morgan Joyner, Laith Mansour, Adalynn Yager, Gabe Mansour, Thomas Yager; and a great nephew who he fostered, Branden Krannichfeld.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard "Rich" Yager.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Willie Tucker, Rich Yager, Jason Yager, Lee Yager, Bryan McClure and Scotty Turner.

Honorary casketbearers were Chris Yager, Bob Yager and Greg Hall.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
