REBECCA BOWLING WISEMAN, a resident of the Braden Community in Fayette County and wife of Albert C. "Skip" Wiseman died at 6:30 A.M. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at her residence. She was 64 years of age and died following an illness of two-and-a-half months.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wiseman were conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, June 16th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Jim Stubbs, Pastor of the Braden United Methodist Church in Braden, Tennessee officiating. Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Wiseman was born May 23, 1945 in the Grand Junction Community of Hardeman County, the daughter of the late Jerald H. Bowling and the late Margaret Moss Bowling.
She received her education in the Arlington School System and was a graduate of Bartlett High School, Class of 1964.
Mrs. Wiseman was a lifelong resident of the Fayette and Shelby County areas and had been a resident of the Braden Community for over thirty-five years. She served as the Office Manger for the Shelton Equipment Company in Somerville for a number of years before her retirement and was a member of the Braden United Methodist Church.
She was married March 15, 1996 to Albert C. "Skip" Wiseman, retired Employee of the Ralston-Purina Company in Memphis, who survives.
Mrs. Wiseman will be remembered for her love of flower gardening and preparing food for her family. She had a special closeness to her grandchildren and for older friends and relatives, and served as a mother figure to her nieces and nephews.
Her pet dog, "Diddle" brought her many hours of happiness.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wiseman is survived by her son, David A. Lewis and wife, Bailey of Somerville; two step-daughters, Tonja Gibson of Nashville and Kimberly Goodman of Camden, TN; her step-son, Richard Wiseman of Camden, TN; three sisters: Peggy Wiseman, Martha Meadows and Carolyn Broughton, all of Braden; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Hugh Bowling.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Harry Wiseman, "Rooster" Meadows, Wayne Broughton, Bryson Meadows, Dylan Meadows and Kenny Broughton.
Honorary casket bearers were Carl Moss, Dewey Moss, Charles Vernon, Tommy Jones and Darrell Jones.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Braden United Methodist Church or to the charity or organization of the donor's choice.
