Bernice Taylor Cargill, 90, born May 18, 1924, lifelong resident of Piperton, passed away peacefully in her home on November 10th, 2014.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Cargill were conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, November 13th at Peebles West Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery at Collierville. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Cargill was born May 18, 1924 in Piperton. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Greer Taylor and Fronie Caldonia Eastridge Taylor. She was a retired procurement officer with the Memphis Defense Depot, a noted historian, genealogist and author. She was the wife of William Lewis Cargill, who preceded her in death on June 22, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Piperton and was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church.
She leaves three daughters, Carolyn Cargill Nave (Dennis) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kathy Cargill Pasley of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kay Cargill (fiancé, Grayden T. Beasley) of Memphis; her sister, Carmine Sexton of Collierville; her brother, Alan Taylor of Heber Springs, AR; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
