Bette Alice Nuckolls Beem, age 70, former resident of Somerville, Moscow and Memphis and wife of the late Scott F. Beem, departed this life Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017 at her daughter's house in Atoka.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Beem were conducted at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Methodist Hospice Residence Chapel at 6416 Quince Road in Memphis. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Beem was born July 17, 1946 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of the late William C. Nuckolls and the late Laura Luttrell Tidwell Nuckolls. She moved with her family at an early age to Tennessee and attended Sacred Heart School and Tech High School in Memphis. She was married December 26, 1987 to Scott Francis Beem, who preceded her in death on January 25, 2009. Mrs. Beem and her husband were the owners of the Bette Bus in Memphis from April 1989 until March of 2003 and was she also employed in the cosmetics department at Walgreens before her retirement. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed painting, crocheting, preparing food and special times with her family, friends and her pet dog, Scotty-Pooh.
Mrs. Beem is survived by her daughter, Laura M. Brown of Atoka, Tennessee and her cousin, Lila Sue Roberts of Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William C. Nuckolls.
