BETTIE "JEAN" RIKE ALLISON

BETTIE "JEAN" RIKE ALLISON, a resident of Huntsville, Alabama, retired Educator and wife of the late William Lawson Allison died at 2:36 P.M. Thursday, December 18, 2008 at her residence in Huntsville. She was 80 years of age.

Funeral services for Mrs. Allison were conducted at 1 P.M. Sunday, December 21st at the graveside with Rev. Ricky Burns, Pastor of the Williston Baptist Church, officiating with a special reading given by the daughter of Mrs. Allison. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery at Williston. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mrs. Allison was born in Fayette County the daughter of the late James Eldridge "Baby" Rike and the late Margaret Ola Gaither Rike, early residents of the Williston Community.

Mrs. Allison was the wife of the late William Lawson Allison who died in 2004. Mr. and Mrs. Allison were residents of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for a number of years where she was an Educator for over 30 years. They returned to the Williston area after their retirement and cared for Mrs. Allison's parents until their death.

A lifelong Methodist, Mrs. Allison will be remembered for her love of life and for her devotion to the teaching profession. She found much enjoyment in inspiring young people and serving as a caregiver to people of all ages. Her life was devoted to serving as a Community Volunteer and caring for others. In later years she moved to Huntsville, Alabama to be near her daughter and family.

Survivors of Mrs. Allison include her daughter, Ann Tucker and son-in-law, Scott Tucker of Huntsville, AL and four grandchildren: Derek, Emily, Abby and Gregory.

The family request that Memorials be directed to Lambuth University Scholarship Fund For Teachers, 705 Lambuth Blvd., Jackson, TN 38301.
