Betty Jean (Hogan) Fitzgerald

Betty Jean Hogan Fitzgerald, age 80, resident of Oakland, former resident of Somerville and wife of the late Robert Edward Fitzgerald, departed this life Wednesday evening, September 30, 2015 at her residence.
Graveside Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Fitzgerald were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 with Rev. Kent Bailey of Collierville, officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was born August 4, 1935 in Fulton, Kentucky. She received her education in the Dyersburg, Tennessee School System and was married to Robert Edward Fitzgerald who preceded her in death on May 3, 2013. Mrs. Fitzgerald was employed as a bookkeeper with Vision Graphics Accounting before her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith and most recently a resident of the Somerville and Oakland Communities. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Fitzgerald is survived by her daughter, Derendia Gale Tisdale of Somerville and her sister, Mary Gaskins (Kenneth) of Bartlett.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Morgan; her mother, Ruby Gregson Hogan; and two brothers, Billy Hogan and James Hogan.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
