Betty Morris Winfrey Hines, lifelong resident of the Somerville Community, retired social worker for the Tennessee Department of Human Services and wife of Robert B. Hines died Sunday morning, November 13, 2011 at the Methodist Hospice House in Memphis.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Hines were at 3 P.M. Wednesday, November 16th at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Somerville, where she was a member. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Hines was born January 19, 1948 in Memphis to Karen Freeland Winfrey of Somerville and the late Robert Hill Winfrey. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School Systems and married Robert Buerke Hines, retired school teacher and long-distance truck driver, on December 22, 1968.
Mrs. Hines is survived by her husband, Robert Buerke Hines of Somerville; her mother, Karen Freeland Winfrey; one daughter, one son, one sister, one brother, four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
