BETTY MEDLIN KEE
July 2, 1939 — April 24, 2009
BETTY MEDLIN KEE, a resident of Cordova, retired Memphis Realtor, former resident of Fayette County and wife of the late Joe Neal Kee died at 9:30 A.M. Friday, April 24, 2009 at her Cordova residence. She was 69 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kee were conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, April 27th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Don Marston of Memphis, officiating. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes-West Chapel of Oakland.
Mrs. Kee was born July 2, 1939 in Marked Tree Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert Medlin and Ruth Elizabeth Holland Medlin. She attended Arkansas Public Schools and moved at an early age with her parents to Fayette County where she was a graduate of the Fayette County High School, Class of 1957.
Mrs. Kee was a Methodist and was a Realtor in Memphis for a number of years before retiring for health reasons.
She enjoyed the friendship of many during her successful real estate career and was a life member of the "Multi-Million Dollar Realtors Club" in Memphis.
She had resided for most of her life in the Fayette and Shelby County areas and was the wife of the late Joe Neal Kee of Fayette County who was a Memphis Attorney and Lobbyist for the Memphis Light Gas & Water Department before his death.
Survivors of Mrs. Kee include her daughter, Cindy Owen Waggoner (Melvin) of Elkton, KY; her sister, Billye Medlin of Memphis; two brothers, William R. (Bobby) Medlin of Knoxville, TN and Rex Medlin of Henderson, TN; her granddaughter, Kayci Kristin Waggoner; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers were Joey Caccamisi, Nick Caccamisi, Bart Medlin, Josh Medlin, Joe Turner and Harrison Turner.
