Betty Nell Richards

May 22, 1941 — December 4, 2015

Betty Nell Richards, age 74, resident of the Somerville Community, departed this life Friday evening, December 4, 2015 at the Rainbow Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bartlett.

Services of Remembrance for Miss Richards were conducted at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. The officiating ministers were Dr. Kenneth Culver, Bro. Eddie Little and Bro. Billy Adair. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.

Miss Richards was born May 22, 1941 in Proctor, Arkansas. She was a former resident of Willow Hill, Illinois before moving to Fayette County in 1984. She was a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville and attended the Fayette County Developmental Center and the Fayette County Center on Aging. Miss Richards worked as the Fayette County "Social Butterfly" prior to her struggle with cancer. She enjoyed dancing, “Nuntry” music and had a special love for her church family.

Miss Richards leaves to cherish her memory four sisters, Mary Will of The Villages, Florida, Doris Denton (Steve) of Somerville, Becky Lenti (Steve) of Somerville, Brenda Richards of Sardis, Mississippi; her niece, Jeanette Richards Shelton of Smyrna, Tennessee and her cousin, Yvonne Hall of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Oscar Richards, Sr. and Thelma Lorenne Letchworth Richards; two sisters, Geraline Driver, Audrey Cain; and two brothers, Charles Richards and Roy Richards, Jr.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Toys for Tots.
