Betty Ann (Culver) Hill

March 1, 1931 — October 27, 2015

Betty Ann Culver Hill, age 84, resident of the Macon Community and wife of the late Ottis Hill, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, October 27, 2015 at her residence.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Hill will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. The officiating ministers were Bro. Jason Moore, pastor of the Oakland First Baptist Church and Bro. Carl Doyle of Oakland. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery in the Macon Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Hill was born March 1, 1931 in the Macon Community. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married December 6, 1946 to Ottis Hill. She was a lifelong resident of the Macon Community and a member of the Oakland First Baptist Church for 54 years. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker throughout her life and enjoyed gardening, flowers, working in her yard, reading, playing games and visiting with her family and friends.

Mrs. Hill is survived by three daughters, Venie Forsythe (Jerry) of Parsons, TN, Shirley Smith (David) of Somerville, Betty Carol Whitaker (Tom) of Oakland; her son, Danny Hill (Marilyn) of Oakland; her sister, Sarah Kee of Oakland; two brothers, James Culver (Kathy) of Burlington, WA, Jerry Culver (Sue) of Somerville; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Hill who died May 5, 2010; her parents, Jesse Culver and Nadine Chambers Culver; her sister, Irene Glasscock; three brothers, Harold E. Culver, William Neal Culver, Ray Franklin Culver; and two grandchildren, Lisa Ann Hill and Gary Perkins.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Grady Hill, Mark Hill, Lee Hill, Donnie Joe Peak, Tony Looney and David Kee.
