Betty Ann (Sexton) Martin

Betty Ann Sexton Martin, age 84, resident of Oakland and wife of the late Henry Wayne Martin, departed this life Friday morning, September 11, 2015 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Martin will be conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill South Cemetery in Memphis. A visitation for Mrs. Martin will be from 9 to 10 A.M. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Martin was born August 15, 1931 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Franklin Sexton and Lucille Montague Sexton. She was a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis and was married June 2, 1951 to Henry Wayne Martin. Mr. Martin preceded her in death on September 24, 2001. Mrs. Martin was employed as a bank teller for Regions Bank for a number of years before her retirement. She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis and enjoyed square dancing and waterskiing.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her daughter, Tina Arquitt of Cordova and her niece, Debbie Dunn of Germantown.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Music and her brother, J.F. Sexton.
