Bettye Irene Eisinger
August 22, 1925 — May 10, 2016
Bettye Irene Eisinger, age 90, resident of Oakland, departed this life Tuesday morning, May 10, 2016 at her residence.
Miss Eisinger was born August 22, 1925 in Helena, Arkansas. She moved to Oakland in 1933 and attended Oakland Elementary School and graduated from Fayette County High School in 1943. After graduating from Lambuth College in 1946, she taught school in Fayette County for three years. She then taught in Texas, Hawaii, Washington State and California before becoming a teacher with the United States Air Force. She was located in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Philippines for almost thirty years. She returned to Oakland in October of 1985. Bettye was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, where she taught a Sunday School class for five years.
She leaves several cousins and many good friends from New Mexico to Cape Cod.
Memorials are requested to the Faith United Methodist Church, 6270 Highway 64, Oakland, Tennessee 38060.
A Private Interment will be in the Oakland City Cemetery.
