Bettye Ann Graham Pulliam, age 85, resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late John Harvey (J.H.) Pulliam, departed this life Saturday morning, December 6, 2014 at her residence.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Pulliam were conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 9th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Blake White officiating. Personal remarks were given by Thomas German and Bill Rhea. Special music was provided by Mrs. Pulliam's great granddaughter, Lizzie Rhea, pianist. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Pulliam was born October 11, 1929 in Somerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl J. Graham and Elizabeth Trainer Graham. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was a graduate of Fayette County High School Class of 1947. She was married for 43 years to John Harvey Pulliam, a United States Navy World War II Veteran, who preceded her in death on March 29, 1996.
Mr. and Mrs. Pulliam were owners of Pulliam Dry Cleaners in Somerville which opened in 1950. She was also employed at Whiteville Bank and Somerville Bank & Trust before her retirement. She was a lifelong resident of the Somerville Community and was a member of the Somerville First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed raising her cattle, working, going out to eat, watching sports and traveling in younger years. Special times with her grandchildren was an important part of her life.
Mrs. Pulliam is survived by her daughter, Mimi Pulliam Anderson (Joe) of Bolivar; her brother, Billy Gene Graham of Memphis; her half-brother, Earl J. Graham, Jr. of Memphis; two grandchildren, Caley Rhea (Bill) of Somerville, Colin Anderson of Somerville; and four great grandchildren, Will Rhea, Lizzie Rhea, J.H. Anderson and Clay Anderson.
Those honored to serve as casketbearers were Earl J. Graham, Jr., Bill J. Graham, Bill Graham, David Newby, Bill Newby, Thomas Crawford, Harvey Crawford and Ed Pulliam.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Somerville First Presbyterian Church, 12940 S. Main Street, Somerville, TN 38068.
