Beverly Claire (Keith) Flores

Beverly Claire Keith Flores, known to many as “Sister” Flores, resident of the Hickory Withe Community and wife of Gar Flores departed this life to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, November 18, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis where she had been a patient for one day. She was 74 years of age and died following an extended illness.

Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Flores were conducted at 3 P.M. Friday, November 23rd at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Dr. Michael Morris of the Ellendale United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.

Mrs. Flores was born September 3, 1938 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Othel Keith and Odelia Parker Keith. She was a graduate of the Humes High School in Memphis, class of 1956. She was married March 2, 1956 to Garveno F. Flores, United States Navy careerperson and electronic technician for the Motorola Service Center in Memphis before his retirement.

Mrs. Flores served as a seasonal employee for the office of the Internal Revenue Service in Memphis for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Flores were residents of Memphis in earlier years and were residents of California for 4 years before moving to Fayette County 28 years ago. She was a family-oriented person who will be remembered most by her genuine example of Christianity – always thinking of others before herself.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, Mrs. Flores is survived by her daughter, Leslie Keith Flores Watkins (Ronny) of Locust, NC; her brother, James Samuel Keith of Atoka; and her grandson, Isaac J. Tucker, Jr. (Melanie) of San Diego, CA.

Casketbearers were family members and friends and the family requests that memorials be directed to the Ellendale United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 85, Ellendale, TN 38029, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the church, charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
