Bevin Douglass Connally

January 18, 1957 — September 11, 2007

BEVIN DOUGLASS CONNALLY, a resident of the Oakland Community and husband of Tina Connally died at 6:02 P.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at his residence on McFadden Drive. He was 50 years of age and died following a brief illness.


Funeral services for Mr. Connally were conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, September 14th at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Rev. Paul Wright, Pastor of the Victory Life Assembly Of God Church in Somerville officiating. Interment followed in Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home-West Chapel.


Mr. Connally was born January 18, 1957 in Thomasville, Georgia, the son of Bevin A. Connally and the late Irma Jean Morgan Connally. He moved at an early age with his family to West Tennessee. He attended Shelby County Schools and was a graduate of the Fayette Ware High School in Somerville.


Mr. Connally was a Christian and was employed in the Iron Industry for much of his life. He was employed by Gilley Iron Works in Manchester, TN., until retiring three years ago for health reasons. He was married January 3, 2007 to the former Tina Wright of Oakland, who survives.


In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Rich Hall and Douglas B. Connally, both of Cordova; his father, Bevin A. Connally of Oakland; four sisters, Sandra Kay Austein of Oakland, Beverly Ann Bushart of Cordova, Sherrie Linville of Leander, TX., and Debra Eldred of Nesbit, MS.; his brother R. G. Newman of Sulphur Springs, TX., and 2 grandchildren, Zane Hall and Anna Page Connally.


Those honored to serve as casketbearers included Douglas B. Connally, Rich Hall, Jimmy Matthews, Dusty Westfall, John Eldred and Perry Kee.
