Bill Hampton

Billy Wayne "Bill" Hampton, age 70, resident of Arlington, Tennessee and husband of Peggy Lemmon Hampton, departed this life Saturday evening, September 1, 2018 at the Methodist LeBonheur Germantown Hospital.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Hampton was held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Robert Ferguson officiating. Interment was private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Hampton was born September 29, 1947 in Collierville, Tennessee. He received his education at Bolton High School in Arlington and was married July 30, 1966 to the former Peggy Lemmon. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed his job as an apartment complex maintenance supervisor. Mr. Hampton enjoyed reading, playing cards on the computer and special times with his family.

Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Lemmon Hampton of Arlington, TN; his daughter, Ginny Rutledge of West Virginia; his son, Sonny Hampton (Amy) of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Betty Young (Wallace) of Eads, TN, Margaret Harper (Phil) of Memphis, TN; his brother, Roger Hampton of Horn Lake, MS; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bailey Edward Hampton and Mattie Pearl Conilison Hampton; his daughter, Laurie Hampton; three brothers, James Hampton, Cecil Hampton, Ed Hampton; and two grandchildren.
