Billie Joyce "Jody" Looney Tice, resident of the Moscow Community and wife of Billy Tice, departed this life Saturday morning, July 5, 2014 at the Methodist LeBonheur Hospital in Germantown. She was 67 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services for Mrs. Tice were conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, July 9th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. David Parlow, pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow, officiating. A Private Interment followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Moscow. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Tice was born February 14, 1947 in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frazer E. Looney and Lillian Fleet Looney. She received her education in the Memphis City Public School System and was the wife of Billy Tice, who survives. Mrs. Tice was employed with the Troxel Company in Moscow for 27 years and with Bodine Electronics in Collierville for 17 years before her retirement in 2004. She resided in the Moscow Community for much of her life and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed special times with her grandchildren, going to yard sales and cleaning her house.
In addition to her husband of 45 years, Mrs. Tice is survived by her daughter, Teresa Morris of Moscow; her son, Billy "Buddy" Tice of Moscow; her sister, Beverly Turman of Memphis; two brothers, Gerald Looney of Southaven, MS, Abner Looney of Gulfport, MS; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel "Petey" Tice who died in 1999; and three sisters, Maxine English, Marie Stacks and Stella Riley.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the church, charity or organization of the donor's choice.
