Billy Banks Burrow, resident of the Arlington Community, retired long distance truck operator and husband of Lacie A. Burrow died Sunday morning, December 2, 2012 at the Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville where he had been a patient for one week. He was 72 years of age and died following an extended illness.
At the request of Mr. Burrow, all Services and Interment will be private and arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center — West Chapel at Oakland.
Mr. Burrow was born May 5, 1940 in Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Claude Burrow and Mary Frances Hopper Burrow. He received his education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married August 10, 1962 to the former Lacie A. Dodd, who survives.
Mr. Burrow had been associated with the trucking industry for much of his life and was a long distance truck operator for Roadway Express Company for 40 years before his retirement one month ago. He was a Baptist and was a former resident of the Memphis and Bartlett area before moving to the Arlington Community 12 years ago. Mr. Burrow’s interests included fishing, hunting and outdoor activities.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Mr. Burrow is survived by his daughter, Regina Reynolds (Randy) of Arlington; his son, Aubrey W. Burrow of Marked Tree, AR; six sisters, Cornelia McDonald of Senatobia, MS, Evelyn Paden of Gallaway, TN, Mary Ruth Morris of Memphis, Nancy Jane Curtis of Memphis, Becky Spitzer of Memphis, Linda Carol Casey of Jackson, TN; two brothers, Richard Burrow of Senatobia, MS, Charlie Burrow of Memphis; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Burrow was preceded in death by his son, Billy Edward Burrow.
