Billy Murrel Doyle, age 78, resident of Somerville and husband of Evelyn Yancey Doyle, departed this life Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017 at the National HealthCare Center in Somerville.

Services of Remembrance for Mr. Doyle were conducted at 11 A.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Freddie Clifft, pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. Interment followed in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Mr. Doyle was born September 23, 1938 in Somerville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross Doyle and Loney Ector Miller Doyle. He received his education in the Fayette County School System and was married April 5, 1958 to the former Evelyn Yancey. Mr. Doyle was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was a farmer throughout his life. He served as a Deputy Sheriff for Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and was Bail Bondsman for Tennessee Bonding Company in Somerville before his retirement. Mr. Doyle enjoyed playing music and singing, fishing, working with his tractor and tending to his horses, but above all, the many special times he had with his family.

Mr. Doyle is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Yancey Doyle of Somerville, TN; his daughter, Susan Bohanon (Butch) of Somerville, TN; two sons, Billy Ross Doyle (Susan) of Somerville, TN, Darrin Doyle of Somerville, TN; his niece that he treated as a daughter, Margaret Ouida McElwee (Danny) of Altus, OK; his brother, Benjamin “Ben” Doyle of Murfreesboro, TN; seven grandchildren, Amanda Pickens (Adam), Beth Wallingsford (Tracy), Sara Holland (Justin), Molly Doyle, Lillian Doyle, Lauren Hughes, Trevor Blair; and six great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Allie Rae, Claire, Olivia, Easton Ross and Jack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Jackson and his brother, Eugene Ross Doyle.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Adam Pickens, Tracy Wallingsford, Justin Holland, Trevor Blair, Jimmy Umbarger and David Berretta. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Motley, Joe Parsons, Larry Terry, Bill Kelley, Dennis Cheairs and Ray Seals.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Shady Grove Baptist Church, 17960 Highway 76, Somerville, TN 38068.
