Billy C. Glover

October 1, 1951 — February 20, 2012

Billy C. Glover, a resident of Bradford, TN, with many family members in Fayette County and a retired U.S. Marine career person, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. He was 60 years of age.

Funeral services for Mr. Glover were conducted Friday morning February 24th in Dyersburg, Tennessee with Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, was held at 2 PM Friday at the Perry Cemetery near Laconia. Local arrangements were provided by the Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Glover was a former resident of Dyersburg, TN and was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as Master Sergeant where he had served for 28 years. He was a Gulf War Veteran where he participated in the Liberation of Kuwait. Mr. Glover was a USMC Recruiter and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg where he was a member of the Solid Rock Sunday School Class.

Mr. Glover was preceded in death by his parents Herman Glover and Viola Kee Glover of Fayette County and by his brothers Chester Glover and Robert Glover. He is survived by his wife Martha Sue Carter Glover of Bradford; his daughter Varina Sue Glover of Dyersburg; his sister Carolyn McClure of Red Banks, MS and his brother Herman Glover, Jr. of Somerville; a half-sister Cynthia Hardin and a half-brother Carl Freeman both of Somerville and two step-brothers David Ray Freeman of Camden, TN and Roy Freeman of Somerville.

Those honored to serve as casketbearers were John Uitendaal, Ronnie Seaton, Robert Sewell, Jim Adams, Donnie Wayne Bryan, Steve Garner and Larry Jacobi. Honorary casketbearers were Billy McCall and Scott Helm.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Dyersburg First Baptist Church Building Fund, 220 Masonic Street, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.
