Bob Edward “Billy” Turner, age 72, resident of Moscow and United States Army Veteran, departed this life Monday afternoon, May 15, 2017 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services of Remembrance for Mr. Turner were conducted at 11 A.M. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Bethany Christian Church in Eads with Bro. Furniss Harkness, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment with Military Honors followed in the Bethany Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Turner was born January 23, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, James F. Price and the former Mary Louise Bryan. He received his education at Collierville High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Period. He was employed as a carpenter for many years and was a member of the Bethany Christian Church in Eads. Known to many as “Cowboy Bill”, Mr. Turner loved watching NASCAR and wrestling, fishing, gardening, dancing and playing Rook and horseshoes.
Mr. Turner is survived by his dear friend of 20 years, Cheryl Thomas of Byhalia, MS; five children, Gina Ann (Carl) of Collierville, TN, Mickey (Amy) of Olive Branch, MS, Terry of Casey, MS, Chad of Casey, MS, Bryan of Casey, MS; two sisters, Brenda Louise Box of Barton, MS, Wilma Sheree Byrd (Larry) of Dennis, MS; his brother, Jimmy Dale Price (Jadie) of Moscow, TN; and eleven grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers were Bubba German, Steve Hutchens, Tony Hutchens, Dillyn Hutchens, Aaron Hutchens and Charles Box.
