Billy H. Yarbrough

Billy H. Yarbrough, resident of the Somerville Community, retired from General Motors and husband of Gloria Yarbrough, departed this life Saturday morning, August 30, 2014 at his residence. He was 79 years of age and died following an extended illness.

A Gathering of Family and Friends of Mr. Yarbrough will be from 2 until 4 P.M. Sunday, September 14th at his residence at 560 Joann Road, Somerville, TN 38068. Interment will be private. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.

Mr. Yarbrough was born September 5, 1934 in Michie, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert William Yarbrough and Nancy Ellen Cleary Yarbrough. He received his education in the Torrell, Arkansas Public School System and was married August 23, 1974 to the former Gloria Jean Walls, who survives.

Mr. Yarbrough was of the Baptist faith and was a resident of the Somerville Community since 1979. He was employed with General Motors for 30 years before his retirement in 1988. He was a 32° Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Somerville Masonic Lodge and the Shriners International. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and building which included his home and will be remembered as a “worshipful master”.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, Mr. Yarbrough is survived by two daughters, Debra Y. Stanford (Mike) of Sumiton, AL, Connie Y. Busby of Birmingham, AL; his son, Henry Nathan Yarbrough of Sumiton, AL; his stepdaughter, Ginger G. Allen of Pittsburgh, PA; a nephew, Larry Yarbrough of Somerville, TN; eleven grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Effie Sue “Ann” Finley; and five brothers, Oneal Yarbrough, Cherry Yarbrough, Lanning Yarbrough, Avron Yarbrough and Albert William Yarbrough, Jr.
